Just Say rock release:
Just Say Rock Productions, together with Roadrunner Records Australia, proudly presents Cradle of Filth - Godspeed on the Devil Down Under Australian tour – in May 2009.

Whitechapel Australian tour

Formed in February 2006 Whitechapel seamlessly meld death metal, grind, and hardcore to create a blistering brand of modern death metal that leaves fans no other choice but to throw themselves into an uncontrollable frenzy.
Whitechapel stands out in today's overcrowded metal scene due in part to their ability to fuse memorable and even groovy riffs with crushing breakdowns, tremolo picking at neck breaking speeds, and incredibly evil and dissonant sounds. Their songs demand repeated listens and gang vocals at shows are common place. Metal Maniacs even took note of the band's unique approach to metal guitars and their incredible work ethic. "A noted characteristic is Whitechapel's three guitar assault; without a doubt an impressive apocalyptic sound. Propelled by the band's DIY ethics, Whitechapel is a driving force that will continue to grow through hard work and determination."
This is a band that is true to their music and honest in their delivery. They refuse to be ignored and will continue to bring their crushing metal to show after show until metal heads worldwide have experienced the manic intensity that is Whitechapel! The bands Metal Blade Records debut This is Exile is out now.

Whitechapel smash Australia for the first time with an amazing 13 shows covering all the major cities & many regional areas. With most shows catering for the all ages market, there is no reason for any metal fan in this country to miss out on the aurally assaulting experience that Whitechapel deliver.

Bring in the new year with a real bang & witness the new force of modern death!

Deicide Cancel Australian Tour

So, Australia, because international bands love us so much, another has decided to cancel a tour with little to no explanation as to why. Deicide's Australian tour which was to take place in December has been canceled, with only the following announcement from promoters to go by: "We were advised that the band decided that they do not want to tour Australia this year."

Those of you fans out there who happened to purchase a ticket, can take it back to the point of purchase for a refund.

This pisses me off personally, and marks the 3rd band I can recall (minus Cavalera Conspiracy getting booted off the Judas Priest lineup) to cancel a tour that I may actually have wanted to attend. Although Lacuna Coil are to return next year for the overpriced suckfest that is Soundwave, it's not a headlining show like they were originally coming for.
The fact that all of these cancellations carried with them little to no explanation as to why they decided not to come is also frustrating. I just hope that bands and promoters lift their game in the future.

Cavalera Conspiracy Forced Off Judas Priest Australian Shows. Priest Cancel NZ Show.

This was taken from the band's Myspace page:

Cavalera Conspiracy has been deemed an "inappropriate" band to perform with Judas Priest on their Priest Feast 2008 tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, and have thusly been forced to cancel their appearance at the previously announced tour dates in the southern Pacific. Although Cavalera Conspiracy (featuring Max and Iggor of the legendary Sepultura) had several amazing and successful dates with their brothers in Priest throughout Eastern Europe, apparently the band has been deemed too inflammatory to open for Priest in Australia and NZ...

So, with that said, this post is an apology to the fans in the Australia and New Zealand for the cancellations.

The Cavalera brothers will be back soon (..hopefully with a more reasonably priced tour...)!

Sad news for any fans who bought their extremely expensive Priest tickets exclusively to see Cavalera Conspiracy. The question of who deemed the band 'too inflammatory' for this particular show is still a mystery, since they were apparently very successful in Europe.

That all said, Judas Priest have also canceled their only New Zealand tour, by fault of what they claim to be due to logistic and freight issues. Tickets should be taken back to their point of purchase for a full refund.

Judas Priest will still continue on with their Australian dates as scheduled, although there is no news on who will be the replacement for Cavalera Conspiracy.

Judas Priest / Cavalera Conspiracy Australian Tour!

One of the world's definitive heavy metal bands Judas Priest, who have sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, will bring their mammoth Priest Feast 2008 tour to Australian fans in September.

The Priest Feast tour will showcase their hugely impressive legacy as well as new tracks from their forthcoming album Nostradamus, which will be released by Sony BMG on 14 June, 2008.

The new album is a metal opera based on the life and predictions of Nostradamus. Long in the works, Nostradamus takes epic storytelling to a whole new level, as it recounts the life of this mysterious, world known 16th Century French prophet.

Judas Priest
will be joined by special international guests Cavalera Conspiracy, Sepultura's Max & Igor reunited and Australia's own Daysend.

Wednesday 10 September - Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Friday 12 September - Acer Arena, Sydney
Saturday 13 September - Hisense Arena, Melbourne
Sunday 14 September - Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Lacuna Coil News

After leaving fans in the dark for almost 6 days about their planned Australian tour for June, Lacuna Coil have finally said something, although I have a feeling it's not what most fans wanted to hear.
Here is their statement, taken from their official myspace page:

Hello to all of our Australian friends!
Please accept our most sincere apologies for taking so long to give you an official statement regarding our planned tour of Australia this June.

Due to matters completely beyond our control, the tour has unfortunately been cancelled.

However, we are thrilled to announce that we will be coming back to Australia this coming February to perform at the SOUNDWAVE 2009 FESTIVAL!

We love Australia, and can't wait to rock with all of our amazing friends down under again!!!!!!

Andrea, Maki, Maus, Pizza, Cristina and Criz.
LACUNA COIL

From the comments posted by fans regarding the news, most were unhappy that Lacuna Coil aren't returning for a headline show, but are still grateful the band is returning. hopefully they'll schedule some headlining side-shows.

During the wait on news of the tour, the band also released news on a few other band projects coming up. One being the first 'official' Lacuna Coil DVD, which will be released later this year. As the band says; "It will include promotional videos, spectacularly remixed pro-shot festival appearances, behind-the-scenes travel documentaries and home videos - and a few other fan-friendly surprises!".
Fans are being urged to keep checking the band website for more details and surprises.

Lacuna Coil vocalist, Cristina Scabbia, has also confirmed that she will be performing with Apocalyptica at this years Download Festival. Cristina expresses her excitement well, as always. She says on the matter, "I've been invited by my friends Apocalyptica to join them during their set at Download, on the song "SOS (Anything for love)" and GOD I SO can't wait!".

Christina and Apocalyptica are also going to be performing the song at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards at Indigo O2 on 16th June.
